Patrick Ouziel is a Chinese American and French cinematographer based in Los Angeles. He studied political science at Yale University and received his MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory.
Patrick’s passion lies in narrative filmmaking, and he is grateful to have shot projects that have achieved recognition at major festivals. “Revenge Tour” won a Special Jury Recognition at SXSW in 2019, and was named one of the 10 Best Film and TV projects at SXSW 2019 by Indiewire.
Other narrative projects include “Flex,” which was awarded a Special Mention at Outfest 2020 and featured on Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Picks and “Marvin’s Never Had Coffee Before,” which was an official selection at SXSW and Palm Springs ShortFest in 2021. “Relationship to Patient” screened at Palm Springs ShortFest 2024 and also on Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Picks.
Most recently, Patrick photographed the Japanese horror feature, “Never After Dark,” which was acquired by XYZ Films and premiered at SXSW 2026, where it also won an Audience Award.
His commercial clients include: AT&T, Discover, Starbucks, P&G, Rivian, Honda, 2K Games (2025 Clio Silver Award Winning Campaign), Tik Tok, Tinder, Grindr, Foot Locker, Ross, Nature Made, Sega, Joybird, Tide, and Nike.
